Anglophones

The Anglophone's program welcomes children from K or 1st (dependind on the site) to 5th Grade wishing to learn French.

Since classes take place at the end of the school day, EFBA classes feature playful, fun, and varied activities.
Class objectives are to create or develop a connection to the French language and francophone cultures, and to develop a desire to learn and children’s knowledge.
The support and motivation of the children’s families are crucial to the success of the program. We recommend when possible to encourage learning the language by offering to play games, to read books, and to watch movies that draw from French culture.

The Program

EFBA follows the program of the CECR (**cadre Europeen commun de reference pour les langues). The CECR is the product of the research of many linguistics and education experts who have established a system to teach, learn, and evaluate foreign languages. It is used worldwide today. It defines the various proficiency levels and progression between levels.
There are six levels:

  • elementary (A1)
  • intermediate (A2)
  • middle (B1)
  • advanced (B2)
  • autonomous (C1)
  • master (C2)

Students may take an examination, the DELF, to advance to the next level.

  • English
  • Français
